3 CONTENT AREAS – 2 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS.
SESSION 1 / DAY 1: CHAMPS and Discipline in the Secondary Classroom
This session offers both new and seasoned K–12 teachers practical tools for designing a classroom management plan that prevents problems, motivates students, and teaches students to behave responsibly. Participants will identify ways to structure and organize their setting and routines to prompt responsible behavior, clearly convey expectations for how to behave responsibly in each classroom, and use powerful observational skills and tools for decision-making.
SESSION 2 / DAY 2: Analyzing Your Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B)
A Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is built to ensure that layers of support are available to meet students’ varied needs and to help all students thrive. This session provides an overview of a, MTSS approach to behavior and gives you the opportunity to assess strengths and weaknesses of your current system. Reflect on where you are in your MTSS process, learn about what is being done in other districts, and get an overview of the range of approaches and resources Safe & Civil Schools can provide to support your district across all three behavioral tiers.
