Coaching and Leading CHAMPS Implementation


Kicks off with a one-day session on October 13, then meets monthly for 1.5 hours

A well-designed coaching program is key to supporting classroom teachers as they implement what they learn in professional development training. This course (15 hours) covers how to build a schoolwide program for implementing proven, research-based classroom management practices through coaching.

CHAMPS/Discipline in the Secondary Classroom


Mondays: October 19, 26; November 9, 16, 30; December 7

Broken into six 2-hour sessions, this  course (12 hours) will help participants reflect on and complete a classroom management plan that will improve the behavior and motivation of all students in their classroom.


CHAMPS for grades K–8 and Discipline in the Secondary Classroom for grades 9–12 are proactive, positive, and instructional approaches to classroom management. Learn how to develop and refine procedures for beginning and ending routines, interacting positively with students, delivering corrective feedback, and more.

Preventing and Intervening with Chronic Absenteeism (K-12)


Mondays: October 19, 26; November 9, 16, 30; December 7

This six-session course (18 hours) will help anyone tasked with tackling absenteeism problems—administrators, counselors, attendance clerks, etc. Learn how to boost whole school attendance with universal approaches and intervene with students who are chronically absent.


For students to be successful in school, they need to be in school. Missing just two days a month places students at significant increased risk of academic failure, social and behavioral difficulties in school, and a host of other negative school and life effects. Learn how to build a culture of attendance in your school as well as effective interventions for individual students who are chronically absent.

Tier 2 and 3 Behavioral Interventions


Tuesdays, 2027: January 19, 26; February 2, 9

Four 3-hour sessions (12 hours) focus on designing effective interventions through an evidence-based model that guides problem-solving for individual

students. Participants will also learn about specific interventions that have a proven record of success.
