Analyzing Your Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B)
Broken into six 2-hour sessions, this distributed course will help participants reflect on and complete a classroom management plan that will improve the behavior and motivation of all students in their classroom.
CHAMPS for grades K–8 and DSC (Discipline in the Secondary Classroom) for grades 9–12 are proactive, positive, and instructional approaches to classroom management. This six-session covers everything in the one-day workshop as well as refining and clarifying procedures for:
- Beginning and ending routines
- Guidelines for Success and rules
- Physical arrangement of the classroom
- Teaching expectations for transitions and instructional activities
- Using an effective attention signal
- Interacting positively with students
- Using a variety of motivational strategies to boost engagement and prompt responsible behavior
- Delivering corrective feedback
- Implementing a range of corrective consequences
This session is for classroom teachers and personnel who support teachers with classroom management (e.g., administrators, behavior interventionists, instructional and behavioral coaches).
