Tom Stacho

Tom Stacho began teaching students with learning and behavioral challenges in Cleveland, OH. After 10 years he left the classroom setting and went on to be a school psychologist with the Cleveland Municipal School District for 16 years. Tom then became a Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS) trainer and consultant with an Educational Service Center, providing training and support related to school improvement and PBIS.

Tom has been an active member of Ohio's state-level PBIS network, supporting the development and implementation of a statewide PBIS model. His work centers on training teachers across the state to coach district and building-level teams in the implementation of PBIS. All of Tom's experiences ground his understanding of behavior issues within schools as well as the systems-level challenges of implementing a large initiative and framework.

As a PBIS/MTSS consultant with Safe & Civil Schools, Tom has provided consultation and training across the country. He has trained and coached at all grade levels in a variety of settings, from large urban districts to small suburban and rural districts. Services and training sessions focus on prevention and are highly practical and realistic in content. Tom's work is based in the principles of implementation science that focus on sustainability of training efforts.
