Lisa Perez

Lisa Perez began her career in education as a middle school science teacher in Houston, Texas. After several years as a classroom teacher, she transitioned to an Alternative School where she gained experience in a variety of roles, including Behavior Specialist, Assistant Principal, and  Director of Student and Staff Services. Most recently, Lisa worked for Houston ISD in the Department of Social-Emotional Learning and Office of Student Discipline, where she was instrumental in training and supporting implementation at more than 100 campuses through coaching of school and district leadership in CHAMPS and Discipline in the Secondary Classroom. Lisa worked alongside school administrators and district staff, assisting them in decision-making regarding alternatives to exclusionary practices; developing and implementing proactive and positive systems of behavior supports at the schoolwide, class, and district level; building a program to help increase student success for those students who were transitioning from alternative schools back to their home campuses; and coordinated the training of thousands of HISD staff in classroom management, Tough Kid, Coaching, and Foundations.
