Safe & Civil Schools offers distinctive staff development and training services. What distinguishes us from others in the field?
Safe & Civil Schools offers professional development for all school staff—administrators, teachers, and support staff.
In addition, professional development from Safe & Civil Schools will help you establish behavior management policies on all levels—for your district or school, for your classroom, or for individual students who display challenging behaviors.
Our associates are dynamic speakers and experienced educators who have effectively implemented Safe & Civil Schools programs in their schools. These colleagues convey a wealth of knowledge in their presentations. They are entertaining, responsive, motivating—all in all, excellent speakers who engage peers with effective procedures and credibility.
No two schools, no two teachers, and no two students are alike. At Safe & Civil Schools we recognize and respect that. So, we can tailor staff development to fit your individual situation. From our multiyear projects model to a one-day workshop, we can offer you exactly what you need to improve your school climate and culture. We can assess behavioral and safety issues for you and work with you to create an effective positive behavior support plan for your school or district.
The most effective way to sustain positive change in your school over time is to begin with a Safe & Civil Schools Foundations or CHAMPs project. During the project, we can help groom your staff to keep the improvement cycle going once the project is over. With our Train the Trainers workshops, we show your professional development personnel how best to guide their fellow educators in the Safe & Civil Schools approach.
Note: In the course of implementing Foundations, leadership teams receive the training they need to sustain proactive, schoolwide positive behavior support strategies. Thus, we don't believe it is effective to offer Foundations in a Train the Trainer format.
