Sessions on Monday through Wednesday will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 3:30 pm. Thursday, sessions will begin at 8:30 am and continue until 12:30 pm to allow early flights home. There will be an optional Q&A session with presenters from 1:00–3:30 pm Thursday.
When planning your schedule, note that some sessions run across multiple days while others are given in a single day. Make sure that you entroll in only one session per day. Use the session calendar to assist in planning.
Bonus Sessions are free hour-long afternoon introductory sessions featuring renowned presenters like Dr. Randy Sprick and Dr. William Jenson. Bonus sessions are offered from 3:45–4:45 Monday through Wednesday. Topics include:
This year, the conference will be held at the Hilton Eugene & Conference Center. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of downtown Eugene, Oregon. Shop at the 5th Street Market and downtown boutiques, visit art galleries, catch a concert at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, or take a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Willamette River. All of this within walking distance of your room!
A limited number of rooms are available at a special reduced rate of $137 single/double occupancy + tax. If you reserve online, you will receive this rate automatically. If you call to make a reservation, please indicate that you are with the Safe & Civil Schools National Conference to receive the special room rate. Daily continental breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided to all participants. A boxed lunch will be provided on Thursday. If you have dietary concerns, please call us at 1-800-323-8819 in advance of the conference.
All participants will receive session handouts. Participants in Training of Trainer sessions will receive CDs containing reproducible workshop handouts and PowerPoint presentations that they may use in their district staff development activities.
We ask that participants in Training of Trainer sessions bring the required books as listed in the session descriptions. Presenters will use material from the books in their presentations. Please note that General Content sessions may also require texts.
