Jacob began his career in education teaching in chemistry and biology in the inner-city of Los Angeles.  Fueled by the belief that all students deserved an equal and quality education, he began to broaden his impact as an educator.  For over 12 years, he worked in a variety of secondary schools, serving as both a teacher and administrator in middle and high schools across a variety of socioeconomic contexts. Jacob's most recent work was serving as a middle and high school building administrator with Green Dot Public Schools, a non-profit public charter management organization out of California.

She has more than 30 years of experience working with thousands of teachers, coaches, and administrators in the United States and internationally.

Michelle Harris

Michelle Harris

Michelle Harris, Senior Consultant at the Instructional Coaching Group, began teaching in El Cajon, California. She taught middle school English and social studies before serving as an instructional coach, Title I coordinator, student manager, and assistant principal at three middle schools, a K-8 school, and a 6-12 IBO school, all in Beaverton, Oregon. A seasoned staff developer, Michelle has presented and keynoted all over the United States, Europe, and Africa. In addition to spreading Jim Knight’s good work, she is also a certified SIOP trainer, and is certified in Effective Teaching Strategies, Data-driven Decision Making, and Non-Fiction Writing.

Sharon Thomas

Sharon Thomas

Sharon Thomas, Senior Consultant at the Instructional Coaching Group, is a National Board Certified English teacher, instructional coach, student advocate, and writer. Along with her work in ICG workshops, Sharon coordinates the ICG Coaching Certification process. She is also a consultant for the Touchstones Discussion Project and a Certified SIM Professional Developer in the area of writing. She is the founder of the Cecil County [Maryland] Teacher Leadership Network and has presented at conferences across North America on the issues of secondary school literacy and teacher leadership.
