Linda Phillips has been an educator for over 20 years, teaching in a variety of classroom settings, including full-inclusion classrooms that support learners who have emotional and behavioral difficulties.
From the time Linda began teaching, her interest has been in creating positive proactive learning environments for all children and helping K-12 professionals to understand the dynamics that create these learning settings.
Currently, Linda works full time delivering staff development for classroom management and schoolwide positive behavior supports. She also coaches school teams and individual teachers who are implementing the components of positive, proactive discipline.
One of the hallmarks of Linda’s staff development sessions is that she models what she teaches. Participants often comment on that aspect of her training and also on how fast the hours go by (high rates of academic engagement in action!). Additionally, Linda teaches from a practitioner’s perspective, so her workshops focus on how to implement the content right away. Her large collection of ‘real life’ samples helps participants to visualize what they might do in their own classrooms.
Linda has provided numerous trainings and presentations on effective classroom management and schoolwide positive behavior support. For Safe & Civil Schools, she presents:
