Keba Baldwin began his career in education as a middle school science teacher. After several years in the classroom he moved to the central office as the Safe Schools Coordinator for Onslow County Schools in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

As the Safe Schools Coordinator, Keba works collaboratively with 36 school staffs to establish school-based programs concerning safety, civility, and dropout prevention. In this role, he:

• conducts research to identify best practices
• implements procedures for monitoring and evaluating programs, projects, and activities
• serves as liaison between the school district and state and local agencies
